"I once asked you to sell all you have and give to the poor and follow me. This is what I meant. If you have no investment in anything in this world, you can teach the poor where their treasure is. The poor are merely those who have invested wrongly, and they are poor indeed! Because they are in need it is given you to help them, since you are among them. Consider how perfectly your lesson would be learned if you were unwilling to share their belief in poverty."
-Jesus Christ
The Barack Obama frenzy seems like a cultural fad which on the surface appears to have grown out of Obama's youth, beauty, and spell-binding oratory. Nonetheless, there are dozens in the radio, television and film industry who are young, handsome and captivating speakers. So there has to be more to the Obama phenomena.
The answer lies in Obama's Marxist "Liberation Theology." Not that voters would support Marxism if Obama was honest about his beliefs. But the Marxist establishment, nowadays more often known as modern day "liberals" and "progressives," who run the news media and higher education in America are well aware of Obama's Marxism and will keep it hidden while they prop up his candidacy in every way.
Of course Obama is helped by Liberation Theology's masquerade as Christianity. But it is not Christianity. Here is an explanation from gotquestions.org:
The Liberation Theology model was mired in Marxist dogma and revolutionary causes. Liberation Theology has moved from the poor peasants in South America to the poor blacks in America. We now have Black Liberation Theology being preached in the black community. It is the same Marxist, revolutionary, humanistic philosophy found in South American Liberation Theology and has no more claim to a scriptural basis than the South American model has. False doctrine is still false, no matter how it is dressed up or what fancy name is attached to it.
Look deeper and see how close Barack Obama is to being the Hugo Chavez of the United States.
Marxism has never worked anywhere and always leads to widespread deepened poverty in countries which try it. Ron Paul understands this. Barack Obama hasn't a clue. A free market uninfluenced by government works like amazing magic everywhere it is allowed and always produces higher standards of living for everyone. Ron Paul sees this. Barack Obama has a theological vested interest in not seeing clearly as he feels his way around.
Ron Paul grasps economics. Barack Obama grasps only stirring up fervor among voters.
Barack Obama wants to use government to redistribute wealth; penalize the entrepreneurs, inventors, researchers, and risk takers, and make dependent on government handouts those who don't even want other people's wealth but would rather have the opportunities created by risk takers, researchers, inventors and entrepreneurs. Ron Paul wants to get government out of the way of men and women who rise to great production and great wealth because they, not government, create a vacuum that pulls everyone up to greatness.

The device which prepares freedom lovers for success, A Course in Miracles , indicates freedom of the spirit is worth everything, while defending the body is insanity:
You operate from the belief you must protect yourself from what is happening, because it must contain what threatens you. A sense of threat is an acknowledgment of an inherent weakness; a belief that there is danger which has power to call on you to make appropriate defense.
The world is based on this insane belief. And all its structures, all its thoughts and doubts, its penalties and heavy armaments, its legal definitions and its codes, its ethics and its leaders and its gods, all serve but to preserve its sense of threat. For no one walks the world in armature but must have terror striking at his heart.
