Rand Paul: Builder Of The New Republican Party

Liberty lovers laugh when they see pundits making pretzels out of their brains trying to explain the meaning of the rise of Donald Trump, Ben Carson, and Carly Fiorina; and the burning of those candidates who had built a reputation as Republican Senators and Governors.

The explanation is actually very simple. What is happening in Republican politics is a manifestation of a natural law: the old must die before the thoroughly new can be reborn, as portrayed in the myth of the phoenix, summarized by Dr. Gail Brenner: "Near the end of its life, [the phoenix] settles into its nest of twigs which then burns ferociously, reducing bird and nest to ashes. And from those ashes, a fledgling phoenix rises – renewed and reborn."
