He's not handsome or charismatic, and his voice is annoying as hell . But he has followed the right approach for a libertarian in politics ... and his approach is paying off.
"For three decades, Texas congressman and former presidential candidate Ron Paul's extreme brand of libertarian economics consigned him to the far fringes even among conservatives.
"No longer. With the economy still struggling and political divisions deepening, Paul's ideas not only are gaining a wider audience but also are helping to shape a potentially historic battle over economic policy -- a struggle that will affect everything including jobs, growth and the nation's place in the global economy." -Los Angeles Times

Yes, Ron Paul once ran as a candidate for the Libertarian Party. But it did not take him long to realize that working through the LP is not the way to have any meaningful influence in American politics.
If you want your ideas to become influential in the realm of politics, you must work within one of the two major American political parties. But freedom lovers can no longer work within the Democratic Party which has become the fascist dictator party in America. The only choice for really serious American patriots is to make yourself heard within the Republican Party.
As much as we feel an emotional rapport with the Libertarian Party, we have to call a spade a spade. The LP has created a politically self-sabotaging image: "Fringe" and "Head in the sand."
As much as we see corruption and wrong-thinking within many in the Republican Party, there is still an image of "major party," and the Republican Party has not yet sold out to total fascist socialism.
How long will it take libertarians to become the majority in the Republican Party? Ron Paul is hated by many current establishment elites of the Republican Party ... for the moment. But how long will it take truth consistently articulated, passionately spoken out, maintained with a firm stance, to finally be heard?
"His views are strong and hardheaded, but you've got to stand firm or you'll get blown over in this world."
By definition America is now a fascist state:
fas-cism
noun
a socialist governmental system led by a dominant party which seeks to control industry and commerce, and uses legislation and governmental decree to force Utopian programs on people.
free-dom
noun
one's natural state of being; a governmental system reflecting one's natural state, including voluntary funding and voluntary willingness to join and cooperate with some rules, but with no restrictions forced on people.
If you are just waking up to your innate libertarian side and want to investigate deeper the underlying nonsense of Obama's religion of government worship, give yourself the pleasure of reading Ayn Rand's epic and masterful novel, Atlas Shrugged:
"God's laws will keep your minds at peace, because peace IS His Will, and His laws are established to uphold it. His are the laws of freedom, but yours are the laws of bondage. Since freedom and bondage are irreconcilable, their laws CANNOT BE UNDERSTOOD TOGETHER. The laws of God work only for your good, and there ARE no other laws beside His. Everything else is merely lawLESS, and therefore chaotic." -Jesus Christ in A Course in Miracles
For the last election year studied (1998) some of the highest percentage of votes for Libertarian Party candidates were for candidates who had been studying free of charge the lessons of: Course in Political Miracles

“I did not understand what made me free, nor what my freedom is, nor where to look to find it. Father, I have searched in vain until I heard Your Voice directing me. Now I would guide myself no more. For I have neither made nor understood the way to find my freedom. But I trust in You. You Who endowed me with my freedom as Your holy Son will not be lost to me. Your Voice directs me."
