Ron Paul Rebels Bother Establishment Loyalists

"Dr. Paul sat down with Bob Schieffer on CBS’s 'Face the Nation' on Sunday, and this time was treated by the host much more as a serious presidential candidate— albeit one with some ideas that don’t often get aired in big-time American politics— than some freaky side-show at a circus." Steve Kornacki, New York Observer

Although the above article grudgingly admits that Ron Paul's candidacy is more than a side-show, it also at the same time illustrates the attitude of the establishment loyalist media toward a perceived rebel. During the American Revolutionary Period those who agitated for liberty were boycotted by loyalists as "rebels." Nothing much has changed. God forbid the rebels get too much attention!

There are more parallels. The loyalists during the American Revolutionary Period were loyal to what? To the status quo, which was a corrupt political empire which left people feeling hopelessly entrapped in a maze of oppressive and stupid government regulations, arrogant taxation, and wars which had little to do with extending freedom and mostly to do with which ruler would be the slave master.

When a peace treaty was negotiated to end the American Revolutionary War, it seemed the rebels had won. Yet by the 200th anniversary of the rebels' Declaration of Independence, it turns out the loyalists had won after all. The rulers have changed, but the type of establishment which the loyalists had been loyal to then is back in place more securely than ever before. In the 1770s it was "backwoods Americans" disdained by the highbrow aristocratic establishment. Now it's 2007 and Ron Paul supporters are seen as "cowboys," a much dirtier, lower class of human being than the highbrow "liberal-progressive" establishment. Different centuries, same principle.

Ron Paul supporters call themselves revolutionaries, which is appropriate. They are all about finishing the original American revolution as well as finishing every other revolution that sought to break people free of control over their lives by an entrenched political establishment.

Do Ron Paul supporters make mistakes? Who doesn't? It is a monumental mistake to categorize all Republicans and all Democrats the same, calling them equally rigid loyalists. To complete the American Revolution it will be necessary to win over many Republicans who never really wanted to be loyalists, as well as many Democrats who will come to their senses and reject the current loyalist Democratic Party.

It is also an enormous mistake to think that Ron Paul is the only Republican who can reshape the Republican Party as a vehicle for the revolution. The millions of dollars being donated by Ron Paul supporters to his campaign are assuring that liberty ideas are being heard ... and ideas have power. Many current Republicans will see the huge torrent of Ron Paul donations and say to themselves: "There must be some value here."

Mitt Romney, for example, is data-oriented and open-minded. Loyalists sense Romney's open-mindedness and attack him as a "flip-flopper," but Ron Paul supporters should be rejoicing that here is another Republican willing to change his mind when presented with new data. If Ron Paul's ideas contain any truth at all, then open-mindedness is our ally. It is a huge mistake to judge a Republican by his past. The question, always, for Ron Paul supporters is: "How open-minded is this person?" Maybe a second question could be: a Ron-Rom ticket?

A "loyalist" is one who worships government solutions and thinks it is perfectly moral to steal your hard earned money via taxation to pay for every conceivable kind of government misadventure. Barack Hussein Obama pretends he is a Christian who is holier than other Democrats. But listen to his proposals- he is a deeply committed and extremely dangerous loyalist. Hillary Clinton is severely loyalist. John Edwards is hopelessly loyalist. Rudy Giuliani is a loyalist pretending to be a Republican. New York Mayor Bloomberg is an egoistic loyalist.

Since loyalists make life on earth hell for themselves and everyone else, it is legitimate to ask: "Who in hell would want to be a loyalist anyway?" Since heaven is free and freedom is heaven, it is a joy for freedom rebels to shout from the mountaintops: "Ron Paul for President!"

The device which prepares libertarians for success, A Course in Miracles , says this about opening one's mind to a broader viewpoint:

The aim of our curriculum, unlike the goal of the world's learning, is the recognition that judgment in the usual sense is impossible. This is not an opinion but a fact. In order to judge anything rightly, one would have to be fully aware of an inconceivably wide range of things; past, present and to come. One would have to recognize in advance all the effects of his judgments on everyone and everything involved in them in any way. And one would have to be certain there is no distortion in his perception, so that his judgment would be wholly fair to everyone on whom it rests now and in the future. Who is in a position to do this? Who except in grandiose fantasies would claim this for himself?

Remember how many times you thought you knew all the "facts" you needed for judgment, and how wrong you were! Is there anyone who has not had this experience? Would you know how many times you merely thought you were right, without ever realizing you were wrong? Why would you choose such an arbitrary basis for decision making? Wisdom is not judgment; it is the relinquishment of judgment. Make then but one more judgment. It is this: There is Someone with you Whose judgment is perfect. He does know all the facts; past, present and to come. He does know all the effects of His judgment on everyone and everything involved in any way. And He is wholly fair to everyone, for there is no distortion in His perception.

Is Sarah Palin's Joy Ayn Rand's Ideal?

Lesson 50: "I join Ayn Rand, educating spiritually." Government worshippers are in control of most universities, virtually every public school system, and almost every major media market. The general public has been thoroughly brainwashed to believe that if there is a problem, or the illusion of a problem, government solutions are the answer ... a new government program, a new government bureaucracy, more power to government. Because almost all avenues of education and information have been under the control of government worshippers, the vast majority of people are stuck in thinking habits which will never for long periods of time serve liberty. Because people's underlying thinking habits will rise to the surface again and again, any libertarian political victory can only be short-lived ... unless people's underlying way of thinking is changed. As much as I might hate to admit it, thorough re-education of the public cannot not be a number one priority for libertaria...

Ron Paul is Wrong; Mitt Romney is Right!

"Ron Paul does not believe we went into Iraq because of 9/11. But Mitt Romney obviously believes we did. So who’s right?" ~Gary Benoit The strained arguments of some libertarians that Dwight Eisenhower is somehow responsible for the 9/11 attack in New York is equivalent to arguing that President James Buchanan was responsible for the Mountain Meadows Massacre of the Baker-Fancher emigrant party on 9/11 in Utah. It is truth in the sense we are all responsible for everything in our world. This is a very valuable truth, wouldn't you say? The twisted leftist argument is that Islamic Jihadists would not have declared war on Western societies if it hadn't been for Western government policies reaching back through the years. But anyone who studies the Koran knows this argument is bullshit. The Koran demands that war be waged on "infidels" until everyone on earth is either converted to Islam, enslaved by Islamists, or killed. Mitt Romney is right. The United States...

Jesus Christ & Ayn Rand: Brother & Sister

It is far too easy (intellectually lazy) to conclude that Jesus Christ and Ayn Rand are miles apart in what they teach. Nothing is further from the truth. It is only necessary to juxtapose the words of Ayn Rand with the words of Jesus to see they teach exactly the same. Ayn Rand summarizes her teaching this way: "My philosophy, in essence, is the concept of man as a heroic being, with his own happiness as the moral purpose of his life, with productive achievement as his noblest activity, and reason as his only absolute." — Ayn Rand, Appendix to Atlas Shrugged Let's look at the words of Jesus Christ regarding these four elements: 1. heroic being, 2. happiness as purpose, 3. productiveness, and 4. reason as absolute. Let's start with the idea that man must choose to be a heroic being. Here is how Jesus Christ says it: Be not content with littleness, but be sure you understand what littleness is, and why you could never BE content with it. Littleness is the offering you ...
